TODD W. L. VIGIL, Co-Founder, CEO, & Chief Investment Officer

Responsible for establishing, developing, and managing BHAM’s Global Executive Operations; and Global Asset Management Division.

Todd Vigil’s career spans over three decades at the pinnacle of Wall Street. A statistics prodigy and Teaching Assistant in college, he was recruited out-of-college by Merrill Lynch in 1987 as one of the youngest talents the firm had ever hired. Hired in July 1987, after 3 months of testing and training, he began his career as a fully licensed Stock Broker on October 19, 1987 — the day of the historic “Black Monday” crash. Despite this baptism by fire, he thrived, earning membership in Merrill Lynch’s prestigious Executive’s Club by only his second full year — reserved for the firm’s top asset managers nationwide. That year he also scored 99.2% on the Series 3 National  Commodities Futures Examination — the best score testing administrators had ever seen, with 119 of 120 questions answered correctly. Next, he began developing his proprietary quantitative OEX (S&P 100) Stock Index Options trading methodology and computerized trading program, and started trading in his high-net-worth client accounts on a discretionary basis.

Recruited away from Merrill Lynch by PaineWebber (now UBS Financial Services, Inc.), and paid a substantial signing bonus, Mr. Vigil continued developing his proprietary quantitative Stock Index Futures & “Managed Futures” trading methodologies and computerized trading programs, and began managing high-net-worth client accounts as an in-house PaineWebber Asset Manager.

Next, Mr. Vigil leaves Paine Webber to start his first Hedge Fund Asset Management Company, Vigil Capital Management, Inc. There he continued developing and utilizing his sophisticated quantitative optimization-based  trading methodology and computerized trading program, earning a performance ranking of #3 Worldwide (by Stark Research).

Subsequently, Mr. Vigil was recruited by Ladas & Hulings, Inc., with over $300 million in AUM, where he served as an Investment Committee Member, Director of North American Investments, Co-Manager of Global Investments, and Chief Technical Analyst. During his tenure, the Firm was consistently ranked among the Top 5 Equity Managers in Nelson’s “World’s Best Money Managers”. There, he also co-managed one of the original Benjamin Graham Funds, previously overseen by Warren Buffett (before he founded Berkshire Hathaway), placing Mr. Vigil in Graham’s & Buffett’s professional lineage.

Next, Mr. Vigil was recruited by Bright Trading, LLC as a Member & Professional Proprietary Stock Trader, utilizing a Statistical Arbitrage methodology, through Goldman Sachs’ Trading Platform — approved at up to 25-to-1 leverage on his own capital.

Mr. Vigil also serves on the prestigious roster of Arbitrators for FINRA (Financial Industry Regulatory Authority) — the largest securities regulator in the United States — as well as for the NFA (National Futures Association), after completing the industry’s most rigorous vetting, including an FBI background check.

Mr. Vigil then founded Vigilant Diversified Holdings, Inc., converting it into a SEC-approved Publicly Registered Investment Company.

Now, at the pinnacle of his career, he co-founded Beverly Hills Asset Management, LLC, to establish and manage Hedge Fund of Funds – the Absolute Return Funds.
